Pokemon Sun and Moon Players Have Problems, First World Problems.

Real Pokemon Sun and Moon Problems

Pokemon Sun and Moon is the latest generation of the Pokemon series, and arguably one of the best. With updated graphics, mechanics and even Alolan Pokemon forms this game has evolved the once formulaic franchise. That however does not mean it’s a perfect game.

This video by vlogger Chris Sanders aims to not only poke fun at the many problems facing Sun and Moon trainers but also the issues of those that simply watch the anime or have ever found themselves explaining to their friends that Pokemon Go is not a real Pokemon game.

get in the bag, nebby

Chris has it all covered, from a song about the Get in the Bag, Nebby Meme to the speed and frame rate issues of playing a doubles battle while using the original Nintendo 3DS.  Lillie would be proud of you Chris, damn proud.

Ecchi Anime Review: Why Keijo is More Than Fanservice Anime!

Keijo is an anime that is going to be very divisive. Let’s be honest, this is an Ecchi anime featuring a lot of fanservice where girls fight with their butts in a sports anime setting. But at its core it comes across as a parody piece with tongue in cheek comedy that challenges the modern-day notions of how sexism and degradation should be defined. In the same vein as Kill La Kill, this anime features strong women both physically and mentally.

Ecchi Anime That Empowers

Often ecchi anime and fanservice make women look co-dependent and weak. Other times it’s a commentary on the trends effecting our world. In the world of Keijo, the women take center stage and their abilities extend beyond butt cannons. These women are athletes, these women are smart and yes these women are beautiful but it’s not their looks, curves or butts that define them but rather the content of their character.

No Butts About It!

I totally understand your hesitation towards watching Keijo, but take a chance and watch with an open mind. What you find will not only surprise you but also give you a true sense of excitement that other anime have failed to provide in years, and believe it or not, none of that has anything to do with the booty.

Small YouTube Movie Critic Cyber Bullied By Big YouTube Critics [Video]

feud nation

The video posted below is by YouTuber Adam Olinger, Creator of the mildly popular YouTube channel Feud Nation where he reviews movies. His channel has a distinct charm but he’s still one of the small guys when it comes to online movie reviews.

Recently Adam has been cyber bullied by those in the top-tier. I won’t name names but from the looks of the video Adam is not without support. Adam’s video details how the drama started and it’s quite a fascinating watch. It truly speaks to how crazy the YouTube community has become and how dangerous cyber bullying can be.

Be sure to watch the video in entirety because missing even a single detail of this story will ruin the lesson it aims to teach on how it feels to by cyber bullied by your peers.

How You Can Support Adam

I for one stand behind Adam. As a supporter of online movie critics and self-absorbed white males every where, this is a cause I do not take lightly. Frankly, I hope after viewing this video you do as I did and subscribe to Adam’s channel. After the abuse he has bravely endured, I think Adam is entitled to some good fortune.

How To Be Super Confident – A Motivational Video for Shy People

If you are shy but would like to also be super confident, this motivational video on how to be confident will help you!

How To Be Super Confident Around People

Let’s be real, having confidence is one of those things that people claim is easy but can be quite terrifying. Some people have extreme social anxiety and others just don’t like socializing. The key to unlocking your ability to be confident around people is trial and error. The more you do it, the less you fear rejection and the better you become.

Getting over the initial fear is also difficult but once you realize that socializing, even awkwardly, won’t kill you, it gets easier. It’s also great to note that most people, believe it or not, want to see you succeed. This becomes more apparent once you get out of high school so if this is you, be patient. (Also if you are in High School and think it sucks…you are not alone.)

Build Your Confidence

At the end of the day only you can save you from low self-confidence. You have to believe in yourself, arm yourself with tools that will make you more interesting, charming or any other self affirming adjective and you will be well on your way to a better you!

4 Social Tips to Help Socially Awkward People Break Out of Their Shell

Growing up I was always socially awkward. Heck, even now I have episodes where I feel my old anxiousness return and I have to remind myself how far I’ve come. Like any other struggle it’s a battle I find myself fighting everyday. Some days I want to hide and avoid social interactions all together but I think we both know that is no way to live. In choosing to live I developed the following list to help myself and others with improving their social lives and break out of their proverbial shells.

Watch Today’s Video on Overcoming Social Awkwardness:

The Best Social Tip for Socially Awkward People

As we’ve established, I definitely know what you’re going through and the best tip I can give you is to tell you to be up front about your situation. What I mean is, be open about the fact that you are socially awkward. It allows others to utilize empathy, it provides a serious conversation starter and lastly it removes a lot of the actual awkwardness due to the spot light on the elephant in the room.

Normal people are empathetic by nature and they want to see you succeed, even more so they want to HELP you succeed! The number of self-help books and YouTube guru’s is astronomical and frankly they all come from a place core in the human brain that says, “I have beaten a thing, now let me show others how to beat that same thing!” Think how when you figure out how to beat a certain boss in a video game and run to tell your friends that are struggling on that same boss how you did it. Sure, you want the bragging rights but more importantly you want to help a fellow human stop struggling.

My point in all this is to say, Don’t be afraid to ask for help. In a way this exercise is secretly just another way to get you talking and acting social.

How To Ask Others For Help Socially

The concept of asking for help is easy but the act is the hard part. If you are like me when you get nervous you talk faster, you start sweating, you may even shake a little bit. All of this normal. My suggestion to combat these reactions is to fail. Through failure you will ultimately succeed. Essentially, you have to go out and practice talking to strangers. Pick easy topics like asking for the time or asking a fellow nerd where they got that cool shirt.

pokemon go

Today Pokemon Go is an easy topic to break the ice with. I myself have met dozens of people this way and while at times it was awkward, it worked! Don’t be afraid, the more you do this the more comfortable you will be. In time the conversations will be easy and before you know it you will be ready to ask people what you really want to. Small talk is the little brother of conversation. Start with small talk and proper convos will follow.

The final Tip I will leave you with is really just encouragement. You absolutely can do this. It may seem hard but with determination and belief in yourself you can do anything. Awkwardness doesn’t feel like a choice but is and when you embrace it for what is, this when you will be set free from the supposed trappings of the awkward life style. Good luck!

Learn How To Reduce Stress & Anxiety by Watching Dragon Ball

Life can be pretty stressful for us humans, unless of course you happen to be an American 5-year-old child raised by boring mildly successful white people. If that’s you, I’m really impressed that you’re reading at this age. Your parents should probably put you on a show hosted by Steve Harvey. Anyway, unlike you Miss or Mister 5-year-old the rest of us have bills, relationships, jobs and squad goals that can lead to anxiety and as such I decided to help.

Watch Todays Video:

Tips to Reduce Stress and Anxiety for Saiyans

I wanted to highlight stress and anxiety tips as they relate to not only humans but anime characters as well because I am a somewhat pathetic man-child. Just kidding, I’m not pathetic but rather I A creative master mind that you should donate money to. Plus, I thought it would be more fun to interweave narratives to something surrounding a nerdy niche vs just telling you how to live your life-like some unemployed life coach. The model in this motivational video is Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super.  He’s a vertically challenged, envious, angry man obsessed with being the best and constantly falls short of that goal. The twist is he is also an alien and was born with a monkey tail. If you know Dragon Ball then you know that’s not the real twist but instead rather the twist is despite all of Vegeta’s short comings he actually has an extremely great life but is too busy being stressed out to take notice.

How Stress and Goku Defeated Happy Vegeta

Before I dig into what makes Vegeta’s life great let me explain who he was BEFORE he came to earth and before he met Goku, the hero of earth that is the source of most of Vegeta’s rage. If you dial back time, when Vegeta was first introduced he was an evil space villain that smirked all the time, laughed at his own jokes and had no qualms about destroying entire planets. He loved what he did for a living AND you could tell by the expression on his face.  Needless to say aside from the forced slavery, he loved his life…AND THEN HE MET GOKU.

vegeta-ep-11-dbzkai-png
Shortly after meeting Goku, Vegeta all of a sudden became extremely petty and angry. He lost his smirk and rarely did anything that wasn’t yelling or proclaiming his distaste for anything that wasn’t blue spandex. You see, Goku despite not being an elite warrior was stronger than Vegeta and old Veg-Head couldn’t take playing second fiddle. He lost much of his original personality and enjoyment of life. He no longer laughed and is not characterized by his trademark scowl. He may no longer be evil, but it could be argued that he’s also no longer happy because of the way he has let the pressure, stress and anxiety affect his life.

vegeta family
This has happened to such a degree that even though Vegeta now currently has a healthy adoring child, a hot wife, a billion dollar corporation and unlimited financial resources, he’s still walking around with clenched butt cheeks because he can’t let go of the idea of being lesser than Goku.  He never took any steps to de-stress or focus on the achievements he has made since landing on this planet. The guy has a cush life and probably doesn’t even realize it. The guy could be enjoying his life over 9,000 times more if he just stopped and smelled the roses.

Reduce Stress Now

I get it though. Not all stress is things we can just stop focusing on but I implore you to do any and everything you can gain control of your situation. If you can’t do that, try to focus on the other things in your life so the stress doesn’t overwhelm you.

The power of you is extremely real and I want to empower you to win in the fight of you vs anxiety and stress.  Watch today’s video for all the helpful tips and let me know of any successful ways you stop yourself from being like Vegeta with the good hair.

Proof YouTube is NOT Going to Fix The YouTube Glitch [2016]

As many of you know, I am a YouTuber. This distinction means that I make YouTube videos, in particular I make about 3 videos every single week. I have posted consistently for 4 years and at first I expected this to be my career. Now, That will never happen.

Watch my Video on This Post:

How To Succeed on YouTube and Immediately Fail

3 years ago I was riding high on the wave of having my videos debut on not only my favorite websites like Kotaku but also huge multimedia platforms like CNN and Forbes, needless to say I pretty much had this YouTube thing in the bag. I even won a national contest in 2013 where YouTube gave me $5,000 worth of equipment and educational courses.  You might be saying to yourself, “That sounds awesome!”  or “Ok, so what went wrong?”…The answer is YouTube went wrong.

Better people than me can complain about the YouTube algorithm and how it killed a lot of career’s in 2012 when they jumped to what was then known as “Cosmic Panda”. Instead of the system favoring videos with similar data, it favored videos based on general viewing habits and other unknown identifiers. Personally, this change destroyed my momentum and cut my views in half. I was angry but since it was happening to everyone I had no choice but to adapt. I made major changes on my channel and did everything they said to do, I cultivated playlists, I posted my videos on blogs, I chased trending topics but It didn’t work to restore me to the days when I was able to make a video about pooping and be guaranteed a couple thousand views.

My subscriptions grew regularly but my views stayed the same. At some points the views were dropping and rising at random. I was confused as to what I was doing wrong and made a video about the issues I was having. That video did pretty well and a few smaller and larger YouTubers gave me some advice on surviving in this new unfair environment. The solution? CLICKBAIT.

clickbait thumbnail

THIS IS A CLICKBAIT TITLE: Clickbait Fixes Everything

I resisted this because in my mind clickbait was a dirty word and even dirtier tactic. Essentially it’s tricking people into clicking by using; deceit, mystery, illusions, over hype and really anything to get people to pay attention. However despite my feelings on the matter, I was curious so I tried it and it worked!  My views were on the up per average video with the exception of Live Streams, which are typically draw in a smaller but more dedicated audience. I was pretty happy with this but didn’t want to sacrifice my integrity so I used the tactic sparingly. Utilizing this and community sharing I was able to get a few videos to reach over 10,000 views with my base audience always kicking things off with a solid 1,000 views within the first day of the upload but that all came to a stop when my channel started getting hit with the YouTube glitch.

The YouTube Glitch Comes to Town

I remember it like it was yesterday. I uploaded a video about the Dr Strange 2016 movie trailer, a video topic that if timed right would usually get me about 10,000 plus views and usually 100 views after about 20 minutes. As a practice I make a point to reply to every comment that comes in within the first 2 hours so I walked away for about 30 minutes to breathe and when I came back ready to reply, just like I had been doing for the past few years, I was shocked to see that not only did the video have no comments but it also barely had 40 views. WTF? I reloaded the page a few times but what I was seeing was real.  I decided to re-upload the video and got the same results.  I thought maybe it’s just the topic is over saturated so I chilled and put out another video, this time on a much less crowded topic but the same thing happened. It was very evident that I had a problem.  I decided to look at my analytics and noticed something else that was quite peculiar.
bsC8Wkc
On top of this random loss of video delivery, I was also bleeding subscribers. I had loss about 40 that day and didn’t understand why because barley anyone got the last two videos and I hadn’t uploaded anything at all that day because of the strange behavior of my last two uploads.  I chose to reach out to YouTube for help since they had just provided me with a support rep. She said she didn’t see anything wrong with my channel but would forward the issue to technical support. Later that night I decided to upload another video and success! I got a couple thousand views and the comments were back too.  I was pretty satisfied and continued my uploading schedule.

On the front end things looked great but behind the scenes every single month that I was uploading videos I was losing more and more subscribers seemingly out of nowhere. In one month I lost 600 people with me losing the most people on days I hadn’t uploaded. None of my videos were getting high numbers of hate or dislikes and I was playing it pretty safe as far as topics go. Analytics data did not point to it being “dead/inactive accounts” and the numbers happening in such large quantities without being related to a particular upload date that I once again knew something was wrong. I contacted YouTube and was told a few things but overall the point was that I was informed that I was experiencing a glitch on my account. The YouTube glitch was taking my hard-earned subscribers each month at high numbers and naturally this resulted in lower average views and revenue across my videos. YouTube’s over arching reply? “We’re Working On It!”

youtube logo

Will YouTube Actually Fix the YouTube Glitch in 2016?

Fast forward to the past 2 weeks and that issue where my videos don’t hit their usual numbers returned and then went away. I’m working to rebuild my daily average on my videos back to somewhere around 1,000 views and YouTube was hit with yet another glitch but this time it wasn’t just me. The bug took about 1,000 subscribers from me and close to 1 million for larger channels. YouTube claims they have addressed the bug and that the YouTube glitch is solved but in my experience it ‘s only a matter of time until comes back and just as likely that YouTube isn’t going to do anything to solve the problem.

It sucks to put all this hard work into something and seeing it destroyed by pure happenstance and the company that is responsible for it all continues to just provide canned responses and false promises. YouTube used to look a like opportunity to me and now it reminds of failure, lies and broken promises.

How To Get More Views on YouTube in 2016 – Video SEO

YouTube is a tough industry to break into these days because the market is saturated, there are literally millions of videos going up every day; Also your subscriber numbers will never reflect your views because YouTube’s delivery system and algorithm does not send your videos to everyone that subscribes but instead delivers to them based on viewing habits. I currently have 60,600+ Subscribers after 4 years in the industry. I average about 1,500 views a video but sometimes get lucky and a video will reach 3,000 or even 19,000 people. I have one viral video with 1 million views and a few mini viral videos with over 300,000 views. This is my channel if you’re curious: Chris Sanders

The number one thing that helped me grow is learning Video SEO and marketing. If it takes you an hour to make a video, you should be marketing and developing the back-end metadata for about 2 hours. Once you optimize this data it will be much easier for your channel and your videos to grow. I’ll detail everything you need to do, some are the normal tips, others are things I’ve personally seen success with.

Step 1: Optimize your titles, tags and description. With your titles make sure it’s both something that people will want to click and are searching for. With the description, Write as much information as possible, honestly writing a miniature blog post with your keywords and key phrases in the first 2 sentences is a very strong best practice because YouTube will use this information when deciding what videos to recommend to users on the front page and side panels.

Step 2: VIDEO SEO. Since you do political videos, tying your titles, description and meta data to trending topics in the news would be very easy and help you gain a lot of ground. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are all good places to watch for trends. On a larger scale you will also want to utilize a tool Google provides called “Google Trends”. Learn how to use this tool and you can get tags and keywords right from the source and you can chase the topics that people are searching for actively and grow your ability to be found very quickly. EXAMPLE: I started a second channel that doesn’t have a niche associated with it yet, it has ONE subscriber and I posted my first video on it last week and my video already has 52 views. Here’s a link to that channel: How To Monster

I’m choosing not to use my existing audience to bump up the numbers on this channel and video because I want to grow as organically as possible. To test this out, I made a video on the whole BREXIT thing and used one of the trending terms as my title and keyword. My plan is to make an entire channel of just “How To Videos” targeting trends based on the research I do to uncover what things people are looking to learn how to do. I might fail but i figure why not just give it a shot. I know how to perform market research and that’s going to be the biggest feather in my cap.

Step 3: Do research on your industry. Find places and online communities that like your kind of videos and share them sparingly. You don’t want to be a spammer but if you make something you think has a lot of potential to grow then share it! I suggest becoming a member of Reddit and paying attention to the type of videos that get shared and then make those kind of videos with your own voice. Reddit itself is hard because they don’t want to be used as a promotional vehicle but it is a good place to learn what the internet is talking about and what things go viral. If you can replicate some of the basics you will increase your chances of connecting with an audience. Tumblr is also a great place to do this same thing and the community is much less brutal. The growth potential isn’t as high but since you’re just starting out you have time to carve things out and experiment.

Step 4: Lastly you’ll want to network and collaborate with other YouTubers. I know you’re thinking, but I’m so small. How will that work? TRY. Early in my career and even now. I will reach out to people with millions of subscribers via e-mail and offer them ideas and ask them if we can work together. I usually have a fully laid out plan or script and make sure that bigger person has as little work to do as possible. Believe it or not occasionally, some of them will actually respond and will help you out. I had one guy actually flip the collaboration and decided to host it on his channel and it gave me a couple hundred new subscribers. This guy has 600,000 subscribers and didn’t need to help me out but did so anyway because despite being bigger than me is still a human. Reach out to people bigger than you and you may just get a very lucrative surprise. It won’t work all the time but it’s better than not trying at all.

BONUS TIP: STAY AWAY FROM MCN’S. Multi Channel Networks are the worst if you’re a little YouTuber. They will promise to help grow you but all of them are lying. They will only help you if you are doing REALLY well. If do talk to them negotiate. If they won’t negotiate stop talking to them.

youtube_logo

Good luck and remember to not let the numbers get you down and to try to post regularly, at least ONCE a week. YouTube says posting on the same date around the same time will work in your favor but if your schedule doesn’t allow for that, I wouldn’t overthink it. If you ever need any advice feel free to reach out to me on my channel or twitter. I respond to everyone that posts on my videos and most twitter people.

Voice Acting in Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Confirmed ? – Opinion [UPDATED]

Zelda Breath of the Wild Voice Acting?

Watching Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild debut at E3 2016 was almost a spiritual experience but nothing made me more excited while watching this game in motion than hearing a real human voice speak to Link. It wasn’t the usual sound effects Nintendo is infamous for but a real (possibly) human voice saying complete sentences.

The beauty of the scene gave me chills but it also gave me a sense that Nintendo is learning. Nintendo seems to be finally listening to us and giving us a Zelda game on scale with others such as Gears of War. That may be wishful thinking but frankly let me dream. Nintendo does a great job of setting themselves apart and I’d like to see them on par with the rest of the class. But I’m getting off topic.

Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Voice Acting
Zelda Breath of Wild the Will Feature  Voice Acting

Will Link have a voice?

The one disappointing thing is that Link himself did not talk, nor did any of the villagers he encountered but the voice over we hear throughout the game still gives me hope. The fact that this voice also called Link by name, saying to me that he’s no longer a proxy for the gamer but rather his own man, which gives us a whole new way to think about how we will be playing this game and if it possibly changes the world of Zelda (Hyrule) forever.

[Update] 6/23/2016

According to an article on Polygon released today, not only is voice acting confirmed for this game but according to one of the games producers, Link is confirmed to be remaining mute!

“It’s really difficult to leave an impression on players with just text,” Breath of the Wild producer Eiji Aonuma told Polygon. “It’s not that I made everything voiced. But I have these moments where I want to leave impressions on users. I add voice there.”

Aonuma recalled a moment early in the new game’s development where he first heard a character with “actual human voice.” According to the long-time Zelda developer, that moment “touched [his] heart” and “was really striking emotions.”

However, Aonuma reiterated that the series’ protagonist, Link, will be remaining voiceless for the foreseeable future.

That’s some excited news and frankly I know I’m in the minority but I do wish Link had a voice. Voice acting in Zelda Breath of the Wild would only bring it a new level and in my opinion if done right improve the franchise.  If new games can get this right there’s no reason Nintendo and and the Legend of Zelda franchise can’t.
